Not Everyone is Supposed to Get It

The Travel Sessions: Vol. 9

Hi, Okay, so it turns out that after the full moon we felt last week, this week is Mercury retrograde. I take astrology with a grain of salt, but it’s wild how accurate it can feel. Right now it feels like the universe is saying: slow down a sec girl, check your tech, and maybe hold off on that big decision.

Thought Bite

If your dreams make everyone around you comfortable, you’re probably dreaming too small.

From the Road

You know that feeling when you tell someone your dreams and their face drops into some strange expression?

Like when I said I wanted to get hula-hoop teacher certified (yes, that's a thing)…

or solo travel Central America…
or start hosting women's retreats

I could feel their discomfort behind the "be careful"s and "are you sure?"s. For a while I took it personally or thought maybe they were right.

That I wanted was weird or I wouldn't be able to pull it off. But truth is that:
Not everyone gets it. And they’re not supposed to.

Your vision isn’t always going to make sense to the people around you. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong. And it doesn’t mean you’re wrong. It means you’re dreaming bigger, deeper, and maybe even crazier than they’ve ever allowed themselves to.

And that’s something to be proud of. Keep going, even if they don’t get it.

Especially if they don’t get it!

You’re not here to be understood. You’re here to expand.

In the Flow: Creating vs. Consuming

Being offline from social media has made me realize just how normal it is to be constantly entertained these days. Consider this your gentle reminder to create more than you consume online.
