The Legal Travel Hack that Feels Criminal
The Travel Sessions: Vol. X
Hi! We're in double digits! Thanks for tuning in. Yes, this 10th edition is a day late, I’m writing from the edge of the world here in Panama, where we just had a tsunami warning and the first case of dengue fever. So far, everything’s been wild.
Alright, let’s dive in! I have a travel hack and a special sneak peak for you at the end. And oh yeah. HAPPY FRIDAY, I LOVE YOU!

You can be strategic about winging it.
From the Road
This week's letter is for the travel girlies who just need a good travel hack to make life a little easier (and a lot less dramatic).
We know a lot of the best trips start with a one-way ticket, but depending on where you’re going, that can raise red flags at check-in.
Many countries require proof of onward travel to enter, with some even requiring proof of return to your home country... and airlines will straight-up deny you boarding without it!
I'm speaking from experience!
So here's what I do to fly one-way: I book a fully refundable return flight, show the confirmation email to immigration, then cancel it within 24 hours.
It's legal and easy (if you're punctual). You could pay a company $15 to do it, or you could do it yourself.
This is just... travel law. You might call it a little chaotic, but it works every single time.
This hack has saved me in Panama, Italy, Belize, and beyond. Just remember: always book directly with the airline, and set an alarm to cancel.
Empowerment is knowing the rules and how to bend them a little.

In addition to Madeira, Santa Catalina has some of the best whale watching I've ever experienced!
Humpback whale season is in full swing here at Coiba National Park, and they're spotted everyday! If you’ve been craving ocean time, this is such a special moment to experience it!
