The Truth Behind Lucky Girl Energy

The Travel Sessions: for the Wander Drawn Woman

I hope this finds you well. Like, genuinely well. Relaxed belly, loose jaw, full heart kind of well. This week's letter is about luck, and what it actually means to make your own.

Thought Bite

Luck hits different when you’re aligned.

From the Road

"You're so lucky." People say that to me a lot. Like I just woke up one day designing websites from the jungle, eating tropical fruit, working for myself, and traveling solo like it all just happened to me miraculously.

But it didn’t... Not even close. “Lucky girl energy” is cute, but if we’re being real?
It’s not magic. It took years (and a lot of unlearning) to even let luck find me. Therapy. Retreats. Coaches. Plant medicine ceremonies. Dark nights of the soul. Experience fucking up.

I spent long, uncomfortable seasons of facing myself and slowing down enough so I could know my intuition. And even more just practicing exercising my new skills (speaking up for myself, boundaries, radical acceptance, etc).

I’ve had plenty of unlucky things happen. Some were random, like losing everything I owned in a fire. But others? They happened because I wasn’t protecting myself. I got drugged. I ended up in a hospital. I stayed in places I knew weren’t safe. That’s not just bad luck, that’s what happens when you spend years abandoning yourself.

Maybe I look “lucky” now, but what you’re seeing is the result of choosing myself over and over again even after I forgot how. This life didn’t just appear. I built it.

And I still work for it every day. If you’re somewhere in the middle of your own rebuild, just know, I see you. And you’re not behind.

The Current

Debit Card with No Foreign ATM Fees? Where!?

This one’s for the girlies who are mindfully spending their way around the world. Typical ATM fees overseas can be $6 or more — and while no-foreign-fee credit cards are common, a debit card with no fees? Harder to find. I use the Charles Schwab debit card, and it reimburses ATM fees worldwide.
Definitely worth looking into if you're traveling often.
