Travel Didn't Fix Me But it Did Do This

Travel didn’t “fix” me

It gave me space to see myself.
After the fire and losing Moby, I realized something that STUNG: I’d been pouring my energy into things that didn’t align. Men I didn't really like, habits that didn't serve me, and thought loops about being liked and wanted, instead of thinking about what I wanted.

If life could change in an instant, why was I spending it chasing things that didn’t matter? Playing small because of what others might think? Travel helped me shift my priorities and start living like this is the only life I get... Because it is.

Thought Bite

“When you stop trying to be chosen, you finally choose yourself.”

In my suite at Casa Carolina. That's an original fresco from the 1500s!

From the Road

I’m back in Santa Catalina but can’t stop thinking about someone I met last week in Colombia. A woman who left corporate life in Europe and poured her soul into building a stunning wellness hotel while healing from heartbreak and serious injury. Meeting her reminded me how important it is to lean into creating and serving others when we feel lost. It also made me reflect on all the amazing female role models I have in my life (you know who you are).

The Current

Plane ticket drama? Call them!

Yesterday, I missed the 24-hour refund window for a flight I purchased (100% my bad).

Online, there was a $150 cancellation fee, but the moment I got on the phone with a human? The fee was wiped.

If you're facing a cancellation or flight change fee online, call the airline directly and ask what they can do! There are real people behind the phone who can and want to help you (unlike an app!).

In the Flow: SurfAsana Lodge

Little lodge update: The kitchen is happening! Fresh tile, reclaimed wood table, and natural lighting so good it makes you want to chop veggies barefoot. We’re getting so close to making this dream real. I’ll share more behind-the-scenes soon, but for now, here’s a peek at where many future smoothies (and late-night snacks) will be born:
