The Version of Me Who Used to Stay Inside

Outside of work and the gym, I spent my days at home in Boulder with Moby. I'd order way too much Uber Eats and binge Netflix in the name of “recharging.” Which sometimes, it really was… but honestly, a lot of the time it was just easier than putting myself out there. My job was very social, and I was exhausted of being perceived — which, for sensitive people (see also: superhumans), can quickly lead to burnout. Over time, this cocoon kinda became a cage, though I didn’t fully realize that until the fire forced me out. But more on that next week. What I will say is that the true reason my condo was so beloved is because I shared it with Moby. And now, as I sit with these newfound feelings of worry being away from Bruno for a week, I’m reminded of the heartache that comes with pure love, and also, that it's worth every bit of it.

Thought Bite

When you find yourself in your comfort zone, ask: is this real ease? Or am I hiding from being seen and sharing my gifts?

“You don’t have to wait until you love yourself to let the world in. Sometimes letting the world in is how you begin to love yourself.”

From the Road

Babes, this newsletter is a day late. Why? I've been in Cartagena! I'm writing this from an insanely comfy bed in San Agustín, a restored colonial mansion, and I can’t stop thinking about how, if you told me four years ago that my life would look like this… I would've said you had me confused with someone else. Someone much cooler, much braver young woman.

The truth is, though, this was always who I was meant to be. Deep down, she was always here.
